We like that Frontpoint’s DIY security system won’t cost you too much up front, and it comes with more features than most free home security systems. Even the most expensive system is less than $1,000 without a long contract, making it a relatively affordable option. It’s a great choice if you’re somewhat comfortable with technology and want to be able to take your system with you if you move. What we like: Security Doctors is a Chicago based, family owned business that offers home security and home automation services, with packages to protect against burglary, home invasion, fire, carbon monoxide, flooding and medical emergencies. They have a selection of wireless security cameras with remote monitoring and video storage capabilities, which are great for when you’re away from home or to capture footage for the police in the unfortunate event you need it. Their home automation features can integrate with thermostats, lighting, locks and cameras. Security Doctors' installation fee starts at $99. Equipment costs will depend on what kind of security system features you want. T Cellular monitoring costs $39. 95 per month, and landline alarm monitoring is offered at a reduced rate of $29. 95 per month.

MESQUITE TEXASI initially signed up with Silverline Security and was told by the salesman it was a 1 year contract. Well after 2 years I went to cancel and I was told I was in a 60 month contract. 12 month vs 60 months is a huge difference. When I pulled out my contract it sure did say 60 months. I never EVER would have knowingly signed a 5 year contract. My contract has now been sold to APT. Alarm Protection Technology and they refuse to cancel my contract unless I'd like to pay 90% of the term or transfer it to someone else. I have seen this same complaint all over the internet including the BBB website. The Division of Consumer Protection in Utah is very familiar with this company as well. The sales guy targeted me because there was an old ADT sign in my yard. He told me "we are replacing all OUR old systems" and he leaned to touch the old ADT sign.
